Biblical Jesus vs. The Modern Jesus

There are two Jesus’. One revealed to us in the scriptures and one concocted by Satan to deceive professed Christians. This modern day concoction of Jesus really isn’t anything new, the Apostle Paul warned the church almost 2,000 years ago about a counterfeit Jesus and a counterfeit Gospel.
For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. -2 Corinthians 11:4
Then Paul said if this surprises you, it really shouldn’t. Because:
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; who’s end shall be according to their works. -2 Corinthians 11:13-15
SATAN COUNTERFEITS ALL THAT IS GOOD
Satan has taken the beautiful picture of the rainbow, a symbol of God’s grace, to represent the LGBT movement, a movement that promotes vile sexual deviancy and rebellion against God. Satan has redefined the word LOVE to mean “tolerance and acceptance of every perverse and wicked thing”. And Satan has created a counterfeit Jesus in the minds of Christians who follow counterfeit ministers of the Gospel.
Satan is hard at work producing counterfeits of all that is good.
Often his counterfeits resemble the genuine article so closely “that if it were possible, even the elect would be deceived” (Matthew 24:24).

SATAN LOVES TO QUOTE SCRIPTURE
Most professed Christians are completely oblivious to Satan’s tactic of quoting scripture. So when they hear a minister quote from the Bible they automatically trust the minister and believe the message is a biblical one from God.
Partly to blame for is this false Hollywood idea out there that when scripture is read Satan puts his hands over his ears and screams in fear. Nonsense. Satan isn’t bothered by scripture as long as it’s not being taught in context. Otherwise he loves to quote scripture. Yes, you heard me right. Satan loves to quote scripture.
In fact, Satan even had the audacity to quote scripture to the WORD Himself - to Jesus Christ.
While trying to tempt Jesus Satan quoted virtually word for word a passage in scripture.
Then the Devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setters him on a pinnacle of the temple, and saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. -Matthew 4:5-6
Satan was quoting from Psalms 91. Check it out:
For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou hash thy foot against a stone. -Psalms 91:1-2
Looks pretty accurate to me. But there is one problem. Satan distorted the original meaning of the scripture by purposely pulling it “out of context”. And:
Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. -Matthew 4:17
So Jesus called Satan out and rebuked him for pulling the scriptures out of context by putting them back into context. Had Jesus listened to Satan and jumped off of the Temple, the angels would likely have just let him die on the ground for “tempting” God. Can you see how important it is for us to understand the context of scripture?
Next time you hear a sermon where the Pastor rambles off a bunch of verses and then tells his own stories in an attempt to tie it all together, will you be able to discern whether or not he was teaching the verses in context? Will you be wise enough to know which Jesus and which Gospel he is preaching?
