Christian Overcomers

We are the resistance, striving to keep the Commandments of God and The Testimony of Jesus Christ.

Governor Walz, We Will Not Bow! (MN Capitol Protest)

(Had to cut some things out for sake of time, but below is the full text of what I planned to say)

Good morning! I tell you what. You look like “my kind of people”. Patriotic Christians who worship God not government. Thank you for having the courage to come make this stand here with us today.

You know, I guess for some reason they couldn’t get one of those mega-church pastors to come down, so, you’re stuck with me. A small-time house church and internet Pastor from Princeton, MN. But that’s alright. We have a solid message from the Word of God for you today.

The title of my sermon will be “Governor Walz: We Will Not Bow!” In this study I’ll be pointing out from scripture, that no government ever has the right to dictate to the church how they are to worship.
Never are they allowed to close our doors or limit the amount of people we let in, not even during a so-called time of emergency. To do so is unlawful from both a Biblical and Constitutional standpoint.

Safety measures should be left up to each individual church. That’s how it’s always been done.

And if the government ever does try to control the church, it is not
just our right to peaceably resist, it is our duty to resist.

Furthermore, when you take a step back and look at what has been going on, you can see that this is not just about a virus. What’s going on is part of a larger sinister agenda to bring down America and make her submit to a Global One World Government described to us in book of Revelation as a 7 Headed Beast with 10 horns. We’ll touch on that later.

For now, if you have a Bible, please turn over to Leviticus 26:1.

It reads:

Leviticus 26:1 Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to BOW DOWN unto it: for I am the LORD your God.

No one does that anymore, right? No one worships idols. Well, what do you call it when someone puts more trust in government than in God? What do you call it when someone looks to their government as their savior
instead of the Lord Jesus Christ? I’d say that’s idolatry. Wouldn’t you?

And that’s exactly what is going on today. Many on the left worship government. Worse yet, they are trying to force us to worship the government too, through Socialism and other means.

We have a prime example of this is happening right now. Over the past two months Governor Walz has asked us to put faith in his leadership, and just stay at home, while he and the “experts” execute their master plan to save us all from Covid-19, this great pandemic that kills less than 1% of those infected. In the meantime, businesses are going bankrupt, our economy is faltering, and countless lives are being ruined. Governor Walz’s cure is becoming more deadly than the virus itself.

You want to put your faith in that?

Jeremiah 17:5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.

That’s exactly what they’ve done. Trusting in the government to save them.

And the response to all of this has been so reckless that one must wonder if this is being done on purpose?

Worse yet, the governor has unilaterally decided that Walmart, liquor stores, and abortion clinics are
essential while deeming churches as non-essential.

What? Wait a second. You’d think it would be the other way around and Churches would be deemed essential, especially during a pandemic when we need God the most. Right? Isn’t this America, “One Nation Under God”?

Why is it starting to feel like we live in China?

Oh, I can hear it right now. One may say, “Well I don’t need to go to a church to worship God, I don’t mind obeying Governor Walz’s edict.” And that’s true. “Where two or more are gathered together in my name there I am in the midst of them.” And another would say, “My church isn’t shut down, we’re holding
online services.” That’s great too. I’ve been running an online Bible ministry for over 10 years and can attest that the internet is a wonderful tool to reach others with the truth.

But what would happen to the church if internet platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and Google starting
censoring and labeling teachings from the Bible as hate speech? How are you going to spread the Gospel if you can’t leave your house?

Oh, wait a second. That’s already happening. YouTube and Facebook are already pulling down videos they don’t like. And Google has manipulated its algorithms to bury things that don’t fit their antichristian agenda.

So my friends the 2,000 year-old method of meeting together in person is best way to avoid censorship. It takes a lot more manpower and resources for a tyrannical government to stop what is being said when we meet together than it does on YouTube, Facebook, or Google. On those platforms the Big tech companies can shut you down with just a stroke of a key. But with in-person gatherings they have to send out people after you. And that’s a little more risky for them.

Besides all that, scripture points to the necessity of Christian gatherings anyhow.

Hebrews 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

There are many benefits to meeting in person. Benefits that cannot be totally replaced with
virtual meetings. Just think of all of the prayer and healing that took place in the Bible with the laying on of hands. That was all done in person.

Think about this.

Under the Governor’s newly issued edict, it would now be illegal for Jesus and his 12 disciples to meet. Walz would say, “Sorry Jesus, you have 3 too many. Stopping this pandemic is way more important than you going out there preaching that Gospel of yours. The maximum gathering size is ten. So you’ll have to limit your disciples to 9. But don’t worry Jesus, I’ll let you go shopping at Walmart, and you can even get candy at Minnesota’s largest candy store. Don’t be upset. Just be thankful I’m letting you do that. By the way, keep your hands off of those strangers, I don’t want to see any more dangerous healings going on. If you keep breaking social distancing I’ll have you arrested.”

Sounds ridiculous doesn’t it?

By the way we’re coming up on Pentecost Day, imagine if those early Christians were afraid to get together in person for fear of the government. They would have missed out on the coming of the Holy Spirit.

See how dangerous it can be to just sit back and let this happen?

We’d be naïve to believe that power crazed governors will just benevolently restore our right to worship after we’ve surrendered it up.

Think about this. Liberals often scream out “separation of church and state” when trying to keep Christians out of government. But when the state is controlling the church, like so many governors are right now, they are okay with that. They believe their choice governors have the absolute authority over the church, to shut them down whenever the feel it is necessary; whether it’s during a state of emergency or to silence so-called “hate speech”.

But when I read the First Amendment of the United States Constitution I can’t find that kind of power invested in them there. I read my Bible a lot too and I don’t find it there either. In fact, Jesus says the opposite in Mathew 16:18:

Matthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Matthew 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Curiously Jesus didn’t mention Governor Walz here. I assure you he hasn’t been given the keys to the kingdom of heaven, the church, to open and shut it whenever he feels it is safe to do so. But he, and others like him seem to think they do. I’ve got news for them. Not even the gates of hell have that kind of power over the church. And we’re not going to sit back and let them do this.

Not on our watch!

Oh, there are a lot of people who would like to see Christians shelter in place, forever, never to come out again. That way they could just get to building their “Wonderful Glorious One World Government” without out us standing in their way. That’s really what this is all about. Psalms 2 talks about how the kings of the earth conspire together against Christ and his kingdom.

But I have news for them. We’re not going anywhere.

Daniel 2:44 And in the days of these kings (The pagan global empire) shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

Daniel 2:45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.

So back here in the 2nd chapter of the book of Daniel, God’s kingdom, His church, is likened to a stone that smashes a great idolatrous image made of iron, brass, clay, silver, and gold. An image that symbolizes Antichrist’s New World Order. The biggest BIG GOVERNMENT ever.

Now take your mind back to the beginning. There is a reason I opened up this sermon with the second commandment. Because the greatest idol of all time, made by men’s hands will be a GLOBAL ONE WORLD POLITICAL AND RELIGIOUS GOVERNMENT. And guess what the church’s job is in all this?

More than that, the ultimate destiny of the church is to defeat this global government. Not with physical weapons, but with the truth of God’s Word and making stands like we are doing here today.

Strangely we don’t hear that message in most of the mainstream church today. Plenty of salvation messages, and soothsaying feel good sermons, but rarely do we hear anything about the destiny and purpose of the church—to stand against the kingdoms of this world that oppose our Lord Jesus Christ—ultimately against the Antichrist himself.

The people need to hear this message. It’s exciting!

So when any government crosses the line and starts trying to control how we worship, then it is a time for Christians to resist. There are many examples of civil disobedience in the Bible.

Take for instance the time when Jesus was preaching the word of God in public, and the Pharisees warned him that Herod wasn’t happy and he was going to kill him if Jesus didn’t stop.

Jesus responded by saying:

Luke 13:32 Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.

In other words, Jesus says, I’m going to do the work of the kingdom, today, tomorrow, and the next day. And there isn’t a thing you can do about it.

There was another time when the Apostles were brought before the authorities and they said:

Acts 5:28 Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.

Acts 5:29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

Let me say that again. WE OUGHT TO OBEY GOD RATHER THAN MEN.

Sure render unto Caesar the things that are Caesars, but tell Caesar to keep his damn hands off the church!

Then of course there was the time when the Shadrack, Meshech, and Abednego were commanded to bow down before the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar commanded the world to worship. But these three men responded by saying,

Daniel 3:18 Be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

Daniel 3:19 Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than normal.

People today get very upset when you don’t bow down and worship the gods of multiculturalism, diversity, and political correctness. These gods are the ones that have gotten us in this mess in the first place. Just like it did Daniel’s people.

Daniel 3:20 And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.

Later on, we find out they survived, and Nebuchadnezzar was forced to change his edict. All because just 3 men REFUSED TO BOW. So don’t think you can’t make a difference.

Many people in their situation may have justified just going with the flow saying to themselves, “I mean if I’m forced to worship the image, I’ll just do it. It will only be for a little while. God still knows what’s in my heart.”

Danger. Danger.

There was also Daniel, who refused to obey the king’s commandment. Let’s quickly read about that.

Daniel 6:7 All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.

Interesting. Under this decree no one could do anything for 30 days without a petition from the king. Sounds like our current stay at home order doesn’t it?

But ours isn’t only for 30 days. No, governor Walz gets to do it 30 days at a time until he decides when to stop. And then if he stops, he says he might decide to bring it back again. You know if we’re being real naughty and not social distancing correctly.

Continuing on:

Daniel 6:8 Now, O king, establish the decree, and sign the writing, that it be not changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.

Daniel 6:9 Wherefore king Darius signed the writing and the decree.

Oh, the king is feeling great. No one can do anything for 30 days unless they ask him permission first. Man, he has power now.

But what’s Daniel going to do? Will he obey or disobey?

Daniel 6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

Not only did Daniel disobey, he disobeyed openly. Just like we are doing here today.

Daniel 6:11 Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God.

Daniel 6:12 Then they came near, and spake before the king concerning the king's decree; Hast thou not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask a petition of any God or man within thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.

Man, history sure seems to repeat itself doesn’t it. Daniel was then thrown into the Lion’s Den but God saved him. So what do we have to worry about?

What has alarmed me more than anything about what is going on today, is how quickly people are willing to give up their freedom of worship and assembly, over a virus. They just willing to submit to a false narrative pushed by the deep state, the fake news media, so-called experts, and liberal governors without looking at the real numbers and facts.

And they live in fear, every day.

It makes me think of the words of Jeremiah the prophet when he said:

Jeremiah 12:5 If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan?

In other words, Jeremiah says, “You faint now, but what will you do when things get real serious?

How about the time when the Antichrist comes forcing everyone to submit to his super one world government? How are they going to resist him if they are living in fear now.

You know, during the days of Elijah things weren’t much different than they are today. Elijah felt alone, like he was the only one left standing up for God in the midst of a tyrannical administration that was out to get him. Sometimes we feel like that, especially in this state that seems to always elect godless liberal politicians.

But I truly believe God is raising up a remnant. I believe God is raising up Biblically minded people willing to stand up for the Commandments of God and the Teachings of Jesus Christ.

Elijah wasn’t alone, and neither are we.

For God said:

1 Kings 19:18 Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.

I feel like I’m standing among that group here today. As we gather together to tell Pharaoh Walz that WE WILL NOT BOW!

Thank you, and may God bless you.
