In this chapter, while in charge of selling grain during the famine, Joseph runs into his brothers who came to Egypt looking for food. While here they will be forced to remember the secret sin they committed 20 years ago. What will they do? How will they react?

Joseph: Savior of The World | Genesis 41


In Chapter 40 Joseph interpreted the dreams of two prominent Egyptian officials, one dream had a positive meaning, the other a very bad meaning. One official was restored to his position and the other was put to death. In this chapter, Joseph is going to interpret another dream, not just one another prominent official, but a dream of Pharaoh himself. In the end, Joseph will be exalted to be ruler of Egypt and savior of the world - a prophetic type of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

In Chapter 38 we read about Judah’s sexual weakness and moral shortcomings, but in this chapter we’re going to see the complete opposite. We’re going to see a moral man, Joseph, who disciplined himself daily to resist all kinds of temptations, including the temptations of an aggressive, and no doubt very beautiful woman.

(Unedited Study Guide) In the last chapter we read through Esau’s genealogy with all of his Dukes etc., and today we’re going to begin something a little more exciting. The story of Joseph getting betrayed by his brothers, becoming a slave, going to prison, and then being placed in charge of all Egypt. Probably the most dramatic story in all of history. And we’re going to see many parallels between the life of Joseph and that of our Lord Jesus Christ.
