Study the Word, Overcome the world

The Cure to Coronavirus | 4-12-20

This will be my 7th message about the Coronavirus Covid-19 situation. So far we’ve talked about how our enemy capitalized on this to pump fear into the multitudes, how it is a reminder to prepare for emergencies by staying stocked up on food and supplies, how it could be God’s way of forcing us to slow down and take a sabbath from the world, we saw interesting parallels between it and the Passover when the death angel came bringing a pestilence, and we talked about a connection between it and the plagues of Mystery Babylon.

Today, I’m going to expound a little more on those things while taking a closer look at how Biblical quarantines were performed and see if we’re handling this right. We’ll also discuss the possible origins of the Covid-19 virus, and how to prevent future outbreaks.

Like I mentioned before, in the Bible, besides the one night during the Passover I can’t think of anytime where God’s people were commanded to shelter-in-place or stay-at-home because of a plague, pestilence, or disease. Only those with symptoms were quarantined while everyone else carried on.

Another trap set for President Trump?

Now before I get too far into this, I believe the Coronavirus is real, but I also believe it has been blown way out of proportion. The current numbers prove it. But I sense the Democrats and the Deep State were counting on President Trump not doing anything about it so they could hype up the situation and blame Trump for every death caused by Covid-19.

“Never let a good crisis go to waste”, right?

But Trump is no dummy, I’m sure he believed all along the Deep State was up to something. Think about it. Had Trump not called on states to shut everything down for a while, the press would have murdered him for it come election time. They would have said he put the economy before people’s lives in order to push the narrative that Trump is just a cold heartless guy who only cares about money, thus hoping to separate the bond between him and his supporters.

However, it appears Trump out maneuvered them once again. In good old Samson style.

I’m willing to bet he views this whole thing as part of a larger war to take down America. Perhaps in an effort to win this war, he is willing to play their game and shut down the economy. But only temporarily
while unexpectedly taking advantage of certain emergency powers to be leveraged against them, powers he wouldn’t have had otherwise. All the while believing these temporary sacrifices will ultimately benefit our nation.

Think of it, when you take a sabbath day or a sabbatical for a season, you always come back well rested, refreshed, and ready to get back at it. Maybe we needed a pause anyway? I don’t think it hurts to let our national economy rest for a little while. You know, back in Biblical times God commanded every 7th year to be sort of a sabbath for the economy.

He says:

“Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land which I give you, then shall the land keep a sabbath unto the LORD. Six years thou shalt sow thy field, and six years thou shalt prune thy vineyard, and gather in the fruit thereof; But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest unto the land, a sabbath for the LORD: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard.” -Leviticus 25:2-4

Continuing on…

“That which groweth of its own accord of thy harvest thou shalt not reap, neither gather the grapes of thy vine undressed: for it is a year of rest unto the land. And the sabbath of the land shall be meat for you; for thee, and for thy servant, and for thy maid, and for thy hired servant, and for thy stranger that sojourneth with thee.” -Leviticus 25:5-6

It appears this sabbath wasn’t only meant to give the land a rest, but the people also. A gift from God.

Now the leftists are pushing stay-at-home orders for a sinister purpose—to destroy the economy, make Trump look bad and win the upcoming election—but God always has a way to use their own traps against them. So I’m not overly worried about the forced shut downs, yet.

What a Biblical quarantine looks like

Okay, we’ve shut down the whole nation, but what does a proper Biblical quarantine look like? Well, Leviticus 13 gives a very detailed description of how the priests of Israel were to examine whether someone had leprosy or not. God gave them a list of symptoms they were to look for to see if the person had the disease and if they were still contagious or not.

If they came to the conclusion the person was indeed infected and contagious, they pronounced them “unclean” and quarantined
them away from the congregation. They didn’t quarantine the whole nation!

As it is written:

“All the days wherein the plague shall be in him he shall be defiled; he is unclean: he shall dwell alone; without the camp shall his habitation be.” -Leviticus 13:46

Notice the usage of the word “he” in this verse. God didn’t say, “we”. I don’t think God could have stressed this anymore than he did here.

This was to have no impact on the rest of the nation. They didn’t stop going on with life when some cases of leprosy popped up. And they weren’t relying on a vaccine to save them. By the way, just think about what a vaccine is. It is taking part of the disease, that thing that is UNCLEAN, and injecting it into your body. That is the exact opposite of God’s command here.

Well, you may say it works. That’s the beauty of modern technology. I say, maybe, but at what cost? What other known or unknown effects are vaccines having on our bodies? Many say that certain vaccinations cause cancer, autism, Alzheimer’s, and other such things. Is that worth risking? Oh, but those studies are inconclusive one might say. Well, I’d rather put my faith in God’s Word. God’s Word has always been ahead of the curve. So if he tells me not to do something, then I’m going to listen. You can try and destroy the credibility of studies showing adverse effects of vaccinations, but you cannot change the Word of God.

Here is another example of the law of quarantine:

“Command the children of Israel, that they put out of the camp every leper, and every one that hath an issue, and whosoever is defiled by the dead. Both male and female shall ye put out, without the camp shall ye put them; that they defile not their camps, in the midst whereof I dwell. And the children of Israel did so, and put them out without the camp: as the LORD spake unto Moses, so did the children of Israel.” -Numbers 5:2-4

This was a command, it wasn’t voluntary, and it wasn’t just for those infected with leprosy. Quarantine was for people with any ISSUE or Infectious disease.

If you know you’re sick, then stay home. Be courteous to your fellow man.

Social Distancing

We even have a case of social distancing in the Bible. But only with those known to be infected. Check it out:

“And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which STOOD AFAR OFF: And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.” -Luke 17:12-14

In addition to these kinds of quarantine laws, the Bible is full of sanitation and personal hygiene commands as well. For instance:

“If there be among you any man, that is not clean by reason of uncleanness that chanceth him by night, then shall he go abroad out of the camp, he shall not come within the camp: But it shall be, when evening cometh on, he shall wash himself with water: and when the sun is down, he shall come into the camp again.” -Deuteronomy 23:10-11

Sounds like common sense to us. If someone wets their pants, they should wash their clothes and take a bath. But not everyone uses common sense. Christians should practice good personal hygiene.

Love your neighbor?

Lately, I’ve read articles written by Christians and Christian organizations stating that by following stay-at-home orders issued by the government we are fulfilling the great command to “love our neighbor.” Next they will be saying everyone should get vaccinated if they truly love their neighbor. Sounds nice, but is that what Jesus had in mind when he said we should love our neighbor as ourselves?

This can be a dangerous slippery slope if we define for ourselves what is loving and what is not.

Is it loving to issue lengthy stay-at-home orders that will effectively destroy many people’s small businesses and put many people out of work?

Of course not!

If we took the time to read more than just a couple passages in the New Testament out of context, we all would have a better idea of just
how to love our neighbor. There are hundreds of laws in the Old Testament explaining to us what that looks like. Not just one vague law to love. We don’t have to guess on this, there are already specific laws for quarantine. These laws command a quarantine that doesn’t destroy the livelihood of others, but only temporarily isolates the sick. I cannot find one instance of a mass quarantine command in the Bible.

Diseases from unclean animals

So where do infectious diseases come from in the first place? One known source, known even by modern scientists, is from animals. Guess what. The Bible tells us that too! Long before our scientists made that discovery.

Take a look.

“Ye shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean. And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.” -Leviticus 20:25-26

In other words, God says stay healthy by
not eating or touching unclean animals. Interestingly, it is thought that “bats” are the origin of the Covid-19 virus. CNN even published an article suggesting that Covid-19 went from bats-to-snakes and then to humans who ate snakes purchased at a local seafood market in Wuhan, China. Think about that. A widespread disease can begin by someone simply disobeying God’s commands not to touch or eat unclean animals (Lev. 11:19). That’s it!

If that command was followed, we wouldn’t even have to be talking about this.

Obedience is the cure

So what’s the solution to all of this? How do we effectively keep our nation from getting overrun with plagues or sicknesses of any kind? Do we lock the whole country down like we’ve been doing for the last 6 weeks? Do we constantly put our hope in scientific discoveries and vaccines to save us? Do we walk around with masks and gloves on everywhere we go for now on?

I suggest that OBEDIENCE is the best preventative measure.

God says:

“If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD; Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.” -Deuteronomy 28:58-59

“Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee. Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed. And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou wouldest not OBEY the voice of the LORD thy God.” -Deuteronomy 28:60-62

My friends, national disobedience brings these things on. It’s God’s way of getting our attention, to try and get us to turn back to Him.

And here, in the next verse, we find that OBEDIENCE TO GOD IS THE CURE!

“And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.” -Exodus 15:26

And again He says:

“Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers… And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.” -Deuteronomy 7:12-15

Fear not my friends. God is in control! All things work to the good for those who love Him.
