War Against Tyranny

| July 1, 2010

On July 4th 1776, one of the most spectacular events in world history occurred. It was on that day that our Forefathers declared their independence and gave birth to this great nation, a nation that was prophesied of long ago to arise in these last days. Haven’t you ever wondered why it is that America became such a powerful force for good in such a short amount of time? And haven’t you wondered why it is that America has been involved in many wars around the world to overthrow dictators and tyrannical regimes?

It’s because since the beginning of time God has chosen a people and destined them to stand against tyranny of all forms. These same people have had a hunger for truth, righteousness, and liberty throughout every generation. And if it wasn’t for them the world would be much worse off than it is today.

As it is written:

“Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.” –Isaiah 1:9

You see conservative Christian patriots are just a small minority compared to the rest of the world. But it is we who hold the standard against tyranny.

And Revelation 12 tells this story. Let’s take a look:

“And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.” –Revelation 12:1-2

This woman represents the 12 tribes of Israel. Again, not just a small group of people from the Tribe of Judah called Jews today, but all 12 tribes who came from all across Christian Europe and united together to form this great nation America. It’s no accident that America became the leading force against the darkness of tyranny and oppression.

And until one understands this, they will never begin to understand the plan of Almighty God.

And I think it’s fascinating that at the entry into our nation from the east we have a symbol of a woman, known as the Statue of Liberty, holding a torch in one hand and a book in the other with the date July 4th, 1976 inscribed on it, the day of our independence. I don’t think it’s by coincidence, I think she is symbolic of this same woman mentioned here in Revelation 12 who was to spread forth the light of truth in a dark world.

I know some will dislike this statement and say that the Statue of Liberty is a replica of a Greek goddess named Libertas. But it is important to understand that many times throughout history godly symbols and people have been deified and made into gods by pagan peoples. And I believe this to be the case for the Statue of Liberty. Because all the way back in Genesis 3:15, long before the Greek goddess Libertas was imagined in the minds of men, it was prophesied that a Woman and her seed would be at war against tyranny until the very end.

Her seed meaning: God’s people and the Christ child who would come to proclaim liberty to the captives (Isaiah 61).

So I believe her to be an accurate symbol of our people as to our mission and purpose on earth. For liberty has burned in the hearts of our people from the beginning. Even before Patrick Henry shouted the words “Give me liberty, or give me death”, this was in their hearts, for we are a Christian people and that’s what Christians long for.

And mentioned here next is the secret power behind all tyranny today:

“And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.” –Revelation 12:3-4

Beloved the dragon is another name for Satan and his power structure. Remember we fight not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers in high places (Ephesians 6). For throughout history it has been Satan and his children the Kenites behind the founding of the most vicious, violent, and murderous political regimes.

Some of the most notable of these were Egypt, Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome. And in our generation we’ve had the Communist Soviet Union, Red China, and many other secular humanist and pagan states. And the one thing that all godless and anti-Christian nations have in common is that their power rests with the government, the state, or is embodied within a political leader rather than in God and the rule of law.

It’s important that we understand our enemies. You’ll be able to learn about them here, as well as many other places in the Bible where we are given the enemy’s power structure, their identity, and their plans to enslave the peoples of earth. And through the knowledge contained in this book, along with our faith in God and Jesus Christ, we can attain the victory. For there is no other way.
